There is a malevolent spirit living in our water pipes.
"Be care for what you wish for..."
Yes, we have hot water. Yes, hot water is a luxury.
But now we have only hot water. Scalding hot water.

There's a story -I think in the Cree tradition -
A young man aks for eternal life.
The holy man grants his wish and turns the boy into a rock.

I forgot how much of a luxury it is to take a hot shower. It only took a week of no hot water to remind me.

Two of my favourite singers:
M. Ward

I get excited just thinking about folks hearing M.Ward for the first time...Here is a recording of one of his concerts. "Undertaker" and "Sad Sad Song" are two of my favourites.

Well, I'm now a member of Broken Social Scene. It's not all that surprising, really. Every other indie artist from Toronto is part of the collective. It's pretty fun so far...I've been hanging out with k-os a lot lately; Bonnie and I had the Dears over for supper yesterday; and tomorrow Jason Collett is giving me a lesson in cabinet making. The new album is out, by the way. It's quite good. You should pick it up. While you're at it check out the new Sigur Ros disc.

Right now I'm sleepy...I had two full drum sticks torn from the steaming flesh of an unknown bird...(turkeys can't be that big). Oh & I also indulged in pumpkin pie, french vanilla coffee, stuffing, sweet potatoes, & broccoli with cheese melted on top. Mmmm. Oww!
(I can't think about it anymore or my stomach will explode).
So...as I sit on my comfortable couch basking in my comfortable home I think of recent headlines:.Tsunami... Hurricane...(& now) Earthquake...
What am I doing here, drunk on poultry juices?! Oww!
(oh my stomach...woe is me...blah blah blah)
Puh! Now is a good time to celebrate God's goodness. Yes. I am home. I am with family and friends. I am healthy. I saw an amazing sunset today. Life is good. I am thankful. This is the right moment. I've decided it.
Okay that is all.
